New Spidey Director announced. Looks like there were going for a pun here! Webb...get it...ha...ha...ha

FROM MSN.COM and Parallel Universe.com:

Oh What a Tangled Web: Columbia Pictures has officially hired director Marc Webb for the next "Spider-Man" movie, due out in summer 2012. Webb has one feature to his credit, "(500) Days of Summer," a romantic comedy with little in the way of webslinging action. They've given Webb an $80 million budget for the first film -- fairly small change for a comic book movie these days -- and are looking for a cast of "relative unknowns." So what can we expect from all this? According to
this, a smaller Spidey: "The touchstone for the new movie will not be the 1960s comics, which were the inspiration behind the movies by Raimi, who grew on up on them, but rather this past decade's 'Ultimate Spider-Man' comics . . . where the villain-fighting took a back seat to the high school angst."

UPDATES EXCLUSIVE: 'Spider-Man 4' Officially Has No Start Date As Of Today Because Of Script Problems; Sony "Unlikely" To Make Scheduled May 5, 2011, Release Date

BREAKING NEWS! 3RD UPDATE: Tobey Maguire just released this statement to me: “I am so proud of what we accomplished with the Spider-Man franchise over the last decade. Beyond the films themselves I have formed some deep and lasting friendships. I am excited to see the next chapter unfold in this incredible story.”

2ND UPDATE: Mike Fleming and Nikki Finke have just confirmed that Sony Pictures decided today to reboot the Spider-Man franchise after franchise director Sam Raimi pulled out of Spider-Man 4 because he felt he couldn't make its summer release date and keep the film's creative integrity. This means that Raimi and the cast including star Tobey Maguire are out. There will be no Spider-Man 4. Instead, Mike Fleming is told, the studio will focus on a Summer 2012 reboot from a script by Jamie Vanderbilt with a new director and a new cast. All this took place today at meeting on the lot today.

So over the long weekend Tiger as you heard crashed one of his cars into his neighbors yard. Heres a pic from TMZ. I love the fact that Tiger is taking a long time to talk to police....we all would get that chance right?
