Argo was the night’s big winner, with Lincoln the loser.

  • Ben Affleck’s Argo won for Best Drama, after getting snubbed in the Best Picture category by the Oscars. "I truly to God never thought I could be in the same breath as them," Affleck said of his competition Steven Spielberg (Lincoln), Kathryn Bigelow (Zero Dark Thirty) and Quentin Tarantino (Django Unchained). Argo producer George Clooney shared the victory.
  • Les Miserables nabbed three wins -- for Best Musical or Comedy, Best Actor for Hugh Jackman and Best Supporting Actress for Anne Hathaway.
  • Daniel Day-Lewis got Best Actor for Lincoln, which had seven nominations and lost six.
  • Jennifer Lawrence took home a Best Actress win for Silver Linings Playbook and quipped, “I beat Meryl [Streep]!”
