Hackers Snatch Personal Data of 50 Million Facebook Accounts

Facebook announced on Friday that personal data from close to 50 million accounts was exposed to hackers.  Facebook discovered the breach earlier this week, according to the New York Times.

Hackers were able to exploit something in Facebook's code that allowed them to take over user accounts. The company also said that 90 million Facebook customers were asked to log out of their accounts on Friday morning in a safety measure.  The company is unsure of the origin of the hack, but has launched an investigation.

More than 2 billion people use Facebook every month.
